Karate Canberra - Kodokan Matsubayashi-ryu Cummings Karate Dojo

Edit this place
Our aim is to develop mind, body and character through traditional martial arts for the modern world.

The Canberra Kodokan Masubayashi-ryu Cummings Karate Dojo was opened in March 2009 in order to bring the Matsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu), one of the oldest traditional Okinawan styles of Karate-do to Canberra.

The Cummings Dojo teaches both Karate-do and Kobudo. It aims—through the development of both physical and mental skills—to improve fitness, discipline, strength, coordination, confidence and dynamic self-defence skills.

We offer 4 regular classes a week with specific classes for children, beginners and adults despite age, gender or ability.
You can view our full class timetable at: http://www.karatecanberra.com.au/class-timetable

The Branch Director/Head Instructor (Kancho) is Sensei Reece Cummings. He holds a Yondan (4th degree black belt) in Matsubayashi-ryu Karate-do, teaching certification and dojo owner's licence all issued from the World Matsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu) Karate-do Association. Sensei Reece also holds a Diploma in Sport Coaching.
