Looking for something to do after school? Want to learn new skills? Want to make new friends? Northern Illawarra Youth Project Drop-in Arvos are the thing for you.
Northern Illawarra Youth Project is open two drop-in afternoons running out of Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre. These afternoons are full of fun for young people aged 11 to 18, with activities including art and craft, a pool table, Xbox 360, Wii, and WiFi access. Running on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 3-6pm, young people are encouraged to drop in.
Parents can feel assured their teenagers are safe, as the programs are supervised by professional workers. These workers can also offer young people information and referrals when the need arises.
NIYP runs their programs free of charge and in a safe manner to help build young peoples self-esteem, skills to make better choices and to encourage creative methods of expression. These programs are a youth initiative, designed through community consultation run at local schools in 2008.
We also have food available free of charge during drop-in hours, and we are open longer with special excursions and activities during school holiday periods
