Vocalist and guitarist Paul Gillette is one of Australia’s leading interpreters of French song - chanson française.
As lead singer of acclaimed gypsy swing and jazz manouche ensemble La Mauvaise Réputation he has performed at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, the Alliance Française de Melbourne, Brisbane Festival, OzManouche Festival, Inverloch Jazz Festival, Kingston Arts Centre, National Gallery of Victoria, Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Viva Victoria Multicultural Festival, Boite World Music Café and live on ABC Radio National’s The Music Show. He has toured in Europe and South-East Asia, including a special performance for the French consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Gillette’s repertoire includes:
