Earthed is a kaupapa that is dedicated to shaping the mission and identity of the church in Aotearoa New Zealand. At the heart of Earthed is a story we all share in - the history of this land and its people. To understand this story properly, Earthed conference takes place on a marae, worship is in both Māori and English, and the traditions of Te Ao Māori and our churches are experienced together. This is both confronting and freeing for all of us, and is a prophetic glimpse of what the future could look like for the church in Aotearoa.
It is a future in which Māori and Pakeha are equal partners under the Treaty and within the church, and every people or culture are welcomed and called out to be who they are. The mantle is to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit for Aotearoa, and to be shaped by that rather than the trends of the globalised Western church.
We invite you to come and hear stories of old and new, and find yourselves wrapped within them. That the story received, would be believed, and lived out in ways we have not yet.
