Celebrating ex-Great Western heavy freight locomotive No. 2857's 100th birthday, we take a look at goods trains through the ages.
Two goods train will operate alongside the passenger services each day; one featuring No. 2857 and our rake of GWR goods vehicles. It is hoped we'll also have a British Railways era train, both steam and diesel hauled, as well as a train from the modern day.
The event will also celebrate Eardington Station's 150th birthday.
Up to two goods train in service over the weekend, including: Great Western Railway goods train hauled by No. 2857 and a Class 66 modern freight with thanks to GBRf.
The heritage goods trains will feature some of the more than one hundred goods wagons based on the Railway, dating from the 1880s to the 1980s, which include examples from all four post-grouping railways, plus many pre-grouping, private owner and BR wagons.

Eardington 150 - we're also celebrating Eardington Station's 150th birthday, Our best kept secret, the little station will be open to the public on both days with various special attractions (trains do not stop here).
