Begin your Friday Night Liberty here at the Dick Laub NTC Command Center featuring works of ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station artists curated by Lauren LeVieux of Barracks 16.

DANCE PERFORMANCE
Malashock Dance & The Malashock Dance School presents a sneak peek of “RIDE,” all-new choreography by iconic San Diego Choreographer John Malashock. In addition, Malashock Dance will also showcase excerpts from “Babar The Elephant,” an upcoming collaboration with Classics for Kids. Performances at 6 & 7 pm take place in the Abbe Wolfsheimer Studio on the second floor of Dorothea Laub Dance Place - 2650 Truxtun Rd.

SPECIAL EXHIBITS
New Americans Museum celebrates Dia de los Muertos with a special altar curated by Professor Jose Guadalupe Flores of Universidad de Autonoma de Baja California. Join us for a curator talk on November 3rd at 6pm. $10



California State Parks Celebrates "Art in Archaeology," the Third Annual Archaeology Art Contest and Show. "October is California Archaeology Month and November is Native American Heritage Month. To honor both, California State Parks and the San Diego County Archaeological Society are co-hosting an archaeology-themed juried art show and contest called “Celebrating the Art in Archaeology.” Come see artwork with an archaeological theme or subject matter in four categories: Fine Art, Photography, Ancient/Traditional Arts, and Archaeological Line Drawings. Women's Museum of California features Beauty or Torture, from the Gibson Girl to the Instagram Model, this exhibit showcases the ways women have conformed to various beauty demands across multiple decades and reveals how those demands affected every day women's physical health as well as their perceptions of self-worth. The Women’s Museum will be showcasing items from their own collection including dangerously high heels, corsets, curling irons, and vintage makeup. 5 - 8 PM. Barracks 16.

WeaveLife hosts their first Exhibit & Open House featuring awesome one-of-a-kind gifts! WeaveLife is a project of UCP SD with generous support from the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities. “Weaving is a good day!” Open from 4 pm - 8pm in Barracks 16, Second Floor.

The Martha Pace Swift Gallery hosts the opening of a beautiful new gallery of abstract landscapes by Ellen Dieter. 5 – 8 PM. Building 201, Second Floor.

The San Diego Watercolor Society invites you to their artists' reception for H2O Portrayals exhibit including wine, food and the fellowship of other art enthusiasts. 5 – 8 PM. Building 202.

Bravo School of Art offers craft, DIY and art classes from beginners to experienced adults and children. Color outside the box and get creative. Come see free instructor's art demonstrations and enjoy class registration specials. Gift Certificates available for the creative people on your list. 5 - 9 PM. Barracks 19, Second Floor.

M Fischbeck Studio Gallery features the works of California Impressionist Peggy Fischbeck and a community art project. 5 - 9 PM. Barracks 19, Second Floor.

Apricot Yarn & Supply stop by and check out their shop, it will be open for social knitting and refreshments. Also, class sign-ups are available at this time. 5 – 9 PM. Barracks 19.

Kevin Winger's Mod-Est Studio Gallery showcases current works by San Diego fine artist Kevin Winger. 5 – 8:30 PM. Barracks 19.

Sara DeSpain Designer Goldsmith features Colored Diamond Exotic Jewelry. 5:30 PM. Barracks 19, Second Floor.

Lauren LeVieux Artist Studio will be presenting a series of oil paintings entitled Ground Control. Stop by to see what she has been doing. All art for sale- cards, mousepads and original oil paintings. 5 - 9 PM. Barracks 16.

San Diego Brain Injury Foundation features survivor, Kurt Rotzinger an architect that suffered a stroke in 2003--leaving him with severe aphasia and his right side paralyzed. He now paints with his left hand. 5 - 8 PM. Barracks 16.

The Hot Spot Pottery Painting & Candle Making Studio open until 9 PM, invites you to get crafty in November! Check out fun fall items like lanterns, dinnerware, mugs, goblets, of course beer steins and tons of fun, functional items for the kids. Barracks 14.

Liberty Public Market has the fall atmosphere inside the 25,000 sq.ft. marketplace's Art Exhibit in Building 1. Support your local San Diego artists and see the newly installed art show, 70+ paintings! It's very convenient to grab a bite to eat & something to drink while there. Art show curated by Arts District portrait artist, NANCY TOKOS fine art - see more of her work in Barracks 14. Building 1.
