IDADA First Friday: ON: A Contemporary Visual Arts Exhibition

“ON: A Contemporary Visual Arts Exhibition” explores the interaction between message and form in ways that “turn on” the viewer’s curiosity.

The exhibition features works in diverse media by 12 artists, including Roger Blood, Hector Del Campo, Jennifer Delgadillo, Daniel Del Real, Michael Evans, Gary Gee, Stephen Heathcock, Atsu Kpotufe, Danicia Monet, Ayanna Tibbs, Samuel E Vázquez and Heather Ward Miles.

The presenter, InCultur, documents art, culture, and life in Indiana and around the world. Organizer and curator Samuel E Vázquez, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a visual artist who works primarily in mixed media. His takes his inspiration from New York City graffiti of the ‘70s and ‘80s, and the work of Ed Clark, Jackson Pollock, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Free admission. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available during the First Friday opening, 6-9 p.m., on November 3, when you can also tour Indiana Landmarks Center at 1201 Central Avenue in Indianapolis. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds theaters and a reception hall in addition to the gallery and Indiana Landmarks’ headquarters.
