Tripper Dungan's art is often wry but rarely has its victims. His colorful work tends to favor the more mundane objects brought to life through augmented kawaii and cartoon anthropomorphism.
"Laser Dome" is no exception. Dungan's love for music and "dead" technology is alive and well in this showcase of wooden tape cassettes, happy suns and imagined charismatic leaders.
"Laser Dome" is the kickoff for Dungan's bigger multimedia project outer Space Tape Cult that hopes to nurture an iota of unity with happy wooden tape cassettes, off kilter music, and twisted bestiaries.
Witness the yarn powered laser dome and the impressive grid of wooden tape cassettes at "Laser Dome" first Friday in November at True Measure gallery on 30th and E Burnside.
Friday November 3rd. 6-10 pm.
