The University of Arizona’s School of Dance is considered one of the top programs in the United States. Carol J. Everett, Director of Admissions at Juilliard, listed the UA’s dance program as one of the best 20 in “The Performing Arts Major’s College Guide” and Dance Spirit Magazine listed UA Dance among its “Great College Dance Programs.” The UA School of Dance has appeared on the UA Presents season as a joint presentation for over 11 years.
2017 brings the best of ballet and contemporary dance with UA Dance’s annual fall presentation, Premium Blend. With its intimate 300 seat auditorium and spacious stage, Stevie Eller Dance Theatre is the best place to experience the athleticism and artistry of this extraordinary ensemble.
The ensemble, with some 140 dancers, performs more than 40 times a year. UA Dance has presented, as part of its repertoire, the works of George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, José Limón, Jerome Robbins, Ben Stevenson, Donald McKayle, Bella Lewitzky, Anne Reinking, and most recently, Christopher Wheeldon, director of the acclaimed American in Paris on Broadway.
Recently, UA Presents audiences had a ‘taste’ of UA Dance as the company shared the stage with Broadway legend Ben Vereen in his Steppin’ Out concert at Stevie Eller Dance Theatre.
