Join Dive Georgia for a once in a lifetime trip to Socorro Island! We planned this trip to coincide with the Giant Manta Ray migration AND the Humpback Whale migration seasons. This small island off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is all but uninhabited; However, the waters here are full of life. Giant Manta Rays, Humpback Whales, Bottlenose Dolphins, 10 species of shark (including Whale Sharks and Great Whites) and schools of fish call the beautiful water here home at different times of the year.
Socorro Island, sometimes referred to as the Mexican Galapagos, is a small volcanic island lying 600 kilometers off the western coast of Mexico. It is the largest of the four islands of the Revillagigedo Archipelago. A small Mexican Naval Base is the only human footprint on the island and the small naval "village" boasts a population of about 250 people.
