Many viewers of art often ask or are curious about the process that an artist goes through to create an artwork. The artwork in this installation will evolve and change over the course of the exhibition providing an opportunity for the public to observe the development of the work as well as engage the artist in dialogue. Beginning as multiple large photographs of a garden taken by Glen Scheffer, over the course of the following month, Allison Williams will make adjustments to the photographs using paint to bring them together into a wholly new image. Although the image shall always retain some aspects of the original, Williams’ manipulation shall bring about a slow transformation - on some days the viewer will be able to see Williams painting, on other days the image, although perhaps appearing complete shall remain in a state of transition. The exhibition will run from September 29th to January 14th, 2018.
Viewers will be able to observe Allison Williams painting on Saturdays from September 30th to October 28th from 11 am to 3 pm.
