Annedria and Andrew Beckham will be on hand Friday, November 3rd from 5pm-8pm.
The last 2 months we've been on a binge of showing off "orange wines" and wines made in qvevri & amphora (clay pots). Locally, there's a winery that makes amphora! This event features them and their wines!! Here's the link to more:
Andrew and Annedria Beckham moved to Parrett Mountain in 2005 to have space to build a ceramics studio for Andrew’s budding art career. Their plans took a turn when they met their neighbors who were growing Pinot Noir grapes and selling wine out of their garage.Andrew and Annedria planted several vines, which quickly turned into a vineyard. They made their first wine in 2009 and opened their tasting room in 2012 to showcase their wines and Andrew’s artwork.
In 2013, Andrew began experimenting with amphora, developing a terra cotta clay body appropriate for wine-making and perfecting the process of throwing and firing large-scale clay vessels. Drawing inspiration from Elizabetta Foradori of Italy, the Beckham’s Amphora Project marries Andrew’s two passions–making wine and making art. The Beckhams have found that terra cotta amphora are incredible insulators. The amphora fermentations are much cooler and more prolonged compared to fermentations in conventional vessels, resulting in wines that are bright, high-toned and very compelling. The A.D. Beckham Amphora wines are fermented with native yeasts, no commercial inoculation and are unfined and unfiltered.
Andrew and Annedria are excited to share their wines with you this evening!
