Trini Pastelles are made from a filling of stewed ground beef, pork or chicken mixed with fragrant green seasoning, onions, tomatoes olives, capers, raisins and pimento. The filling is wrapped in a Corn Flour shell and then enveloped in banana leaves to be steamed for 20 minutes.
Pastelles while similar looking to the tamale are NOT. The cooking procedure, flavor, texture and ingredients are unique to the island of Trinidad and Tobago.

We are located at Queens Night Market every Saturday 6pm- midnight
During the week it's Lunchtime Under the Archway Wednesday - Friday in Dumbo starting June 2016.
