A Discussion with Admiral Bill McRaven, presented by the Texas Cowboys Lectureship Series
You are invited to join us on Wednesday, November 11th, 2026, at the Texas Union Theatre at 3:00 p.m. for an afternoon with our distinguished guest, Admiral Bill McRaven. Each year, the Texas Cowboys have brought some of the greatest speakers in the state of Texas to discuss leadership, service, and other values through the lectureship series. Past speakers have included Michael Dell, Mack Brown, and Shaun White, among others. The goal of these events is to allow students to learn from and be inspired by some of the greatest minds, athletes, coaches, and other leaders across society today.
In partnership with University Unions and the LBJ School of Public Affairs, this year’s iteration of the Texas Cowboys Lectureship Series is proud to host Admiral Bill McRaven as he speaks about leadership, character, and service to Texas and the nation. Admiral McRaven spent 37 years as a Navy SEAL, led U.S. Special Forces Command, and served as Chancellor of the UT System. Given his dedicated service to our country, state, and university, we are grateful to host a discussion with such a distinguished individual.
The event will include a moderated discussion and a Q&A with questions from the audience. A limited number of early attendees will receive copies of his latest book, Duty, Honor, Country, and Life: A Tribute to the American Spirit.
Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. for seating. This event is free for all UT students, faculty, staff, alumni, and invited guests. For questions, please contact [email protected]. A reception will immediately follow the event for Texas Cowboys members and alumni at the Texas Union Santa Rita Suite on the third floor of the Texas Union.
