Bones, Borders, and Black Mirrors: Can Justice Outlive Colonialism?
Join IAJS for Bones, Borders, and Black Mirrors: Can Justice Outlive Colonialism? as we consider how colonialism continues to shape our world and explore where, in the law, in the archaeological record, and in art, we are finding ways to build more just societies.
Inspiring this conversation is artwork by Pedro Lasch, Coatlicue & Las Meninas: The Stanford Edition, originally commissioned as part of a national program co-hosted by Stanford’s Institute for Advancing Just Societies and Zócalo Public Square, and now installed at the Institute. In conversation with artist and professor, Pedro Lasch (Duke University), are international legal scholar Tendayi Achiume (Stanford Law School), and archeology professor Krish Seetah (Doerr School of Sustainability), moderated by sociologist and IAJS Faculty Director, Tomás Jiménez (Sociology).
Ideas Mosaic is an Institute for Advancing Just Societies quarterly series where scholars, practitioners, and artists converge to shape bold ideas for a more just world.
