Faculty Job Search Series: Interviewing

This workshop prepares graduate students and postdocs for the academic interview process. Participants will learn the differences between screening interviews and on-campus interviews (or "flyouts"), including what to expect from committee meetings, one-on-one sessions, and even tricky conversations over meals. The session covers strategies for delivering an effective research talk, teaching demonstration, and chalk talk, with practical tips on storytelling, simplifying visuals, and engaging an audience. Attendees will also explore how to build a strong personal brand and prepare thoughtful questions to ask interviewers in return.
