The Stanford Wind Symphony takes audiences on a vibrant musical journey from the ancient streets of Rome in Respighi’s evocative I Pini di Roma to the breathtaking landscapes of Yagisawa’s Machu Picchu, alongside the luminous energy of Mackey’s Aurora Awakes and the youthful exuberance of Reed’s The Hounds of Spring. The program includes Borne’s virtuosic Carmen Fantasy, featuring Stanford student flutist Erica Wang as soloist, bringing the brilliance and expressive power of the flute to the concert stage.
